There not that much point in upgrading your CD-ROM. Most CD-ROMs are all the same and the high speeds will not do all that much.
You could go with a SCSI drive, which will do transfers much quicker.
Not much you can really do with CD-ROMs now, unless you CD-ROM has died then you should be saving up for a DVD (See next page)
