What is it?

DVD-ROM is called Digital Versatile Disc - Read only Memory or sometimes Digital Video Disc - Read Only Memory.

A DVD is more or less the same as a CD-ROM. Except it can now hold much more data, around 4GBs.

In order to use a DVD you need a new drive, a DVD drive.

DVDs not only read DVD-ROMs but can also read CD-ROMs.

DVD drives are also used to view movies on. Since they can hold alot of data the movies are re-done to be a much high quality.
