The oldest panda - DoDo

Do Do is 37 this year, she is the oldest giant panda in the world.

The staffs in China Wuhan zoo said that Do Do was born in 24th April 1962 in Changdu and settled down in Wuhan zoo in 1985.

The other captive giant pandas that aged more than 30 are Qian Qian (30/m?) in China Shangyiang zoo and Sha Sha (32/f) in China Taiyuan zoo.

A new natural reserve is opened in Sichuan for giant pandas and other endangered species. This is the Koudinshan Natural Reserve, located at the mountain areas in western Deyin city, next to Wolong Natural Reserve.

The area of Koudinshan Natural Reserve is more than 40000 hectares, and there are plenty of bamboo for giant pandas to eat. It also acts as a corridor between Minchan Natural Reserve and Wolong Natural Reserve, thus the giant panda’s home range is enlarged and facilitates the living and protection of the giant pandas.
