Alex
, Age 16
Born in the quiet town of Hartford, Connecticut, I moved down to
Manassas, Virginia at the age of one and
then moved to Herndon, Virginia at the age of 3. I have been living in Chantilly, Virginia for over 11 years.
I am going to become a Junior in Chantilly High.
My favorite color is red, blood red. I join the neighborhood swim team to work out and be with my friends. I
like basketball, soccer, and all kinds of video games. Oh, I
also enjoy skiing. play viola and violin.
I hope to go to college and major in biology or some other area which deals with the
environment. With luck, I will be able to fix the hole in the Ozone Layer without causing more
pollution.
Mike, Age 17
Born in Tapei, capital of Taiwan. Moved around to several areas for a number of times before my family
finally decided to settle here, in Virginia. I enjoy the climates here and probably will remain for quite some time.
My favorite sports are basketball and track and fields. However I spend most of
my time reading science and military history books. I’ve played the violin for
seven years now and enjoys it very much.
In the future, I hope to pursue in the computer technology or the field of medicine.
As for now I wish to keep up with my grades and apply for the collage of my
dream. Nothing has been more challenge than ThinkQuest. I’m enjoying every
bit of it and can’t wait to see this project when it’s finished.
-- Marianna
, age 16
Cocoa, Florida has been my home all my sixteen years of life. I’ve had the privilege of never moving, which
has made my very attached to my home.
My main interests are art, music, literature and science. I love to draw (a happy task as artist for our page)
and I would someday like to go into illustrating. I’ve played violin for a little over seven years, and am a member
of my county’s symphony youth orchestra. I enjoy spending time with my friends, and conversing with them in
any means (phone, e-mail, letters, you name it). I read a lot in my spare time, especially fantasy and science
fiction, and often go on into the night. Astronomy especially is fascinating to me, with biology not far behind.
I have yet to decide on a career choice or profession, but I am most interested in pursuing art and music. I
would like to either teach or perform in both.
I’m also interested in computers, and my experience with ThinkQuest has been a very enjoyable challenge. I
would definitely consider reapplying next year.
