Africa:
An Introduction

Africa, a very mysterious continent, home to many diseases and viruses that have once been hidden beneath the dense rainforest, safely away from man. Today, these viruses and diseases such as Ebola and AIDS have been released through widespread deforestation, creating havok and suffering for mankind. Yet all these have not made man learn, learn that we must always respect mother nature, and not destroy the very environment we live in. In Africa, the Sahara desert is spreading, the Zaire Basin is shrinking. If nothing is done to stop the massive clearing of rainforests, one day, Africa would be nothing but one gigantic wasteland, a desert.

The African elephant is one very good example that can show the greed and selfishness in man. Today, the African elephant has become one of the world’s most endangered animals. The main reason; poaching for the ivory that the elephants carry, had once been so popular in some countries that governments had actually encouraged the sale and export of ivory from African elephants!!!

Besides the African elephant, there are many other many interesting animals that are only found in this mysterious continent. Click and Read on to find out more!!!
