In the beginning of our century the
soviet government developed active antireligious activity. As a rezult Siberian shamanizm
was practically completely destroyed. The shaman ritual accessory were took off, it was
prohibited to make rituals for shamans. They were deportated and put in prisons, some of
them were eliminated physically. Only few, living at the most remote areas, continued their
activity.
At that the active study of shamanizm by scientists - ethnographers was began at
the same time. For years of shamans persecutions many museum have replenished with shaman
attributes, which are pride of the museum collections nowadays. The researchers made many
photos of the last Siberian shamans, noted their stories and were in their rituals and
holidays and explicitly described them. Due to this it is known much enough about Siberian
shamanism. All photos of shamans, their dresses and tambourines, which you will find on
our pages, are kept in the Novosibirsk museum. All this subjects were obtained in the
20-30-th years.
Since the 90-th years shamanism in Siberia regenerated again. In some national
republics the practicing shamans appeared, and shamanism became again the dominating
society ideology. For example, in republics Buryatiya and Tuva shamanism is seeing as
national religion. Shamans assotiation are created here, the public shamans shows are
organized. The rituals take place even in the offices of ministers and presidents. |
