Birds figurines.
The
series of birds sculptural images which have been cut out from a mammoth tusk is very
known. This figurines mainly were of water-birds - ducks and eiders, which the inhabitants
of Malta hunted. They were mainly identical, "standard" images of a birds,
stopped in flight. They have the short and massive body, the small head on the long, drew
out, neck, small roundish wings. Most likely they are young, only learning to fly persons,
which could become easy bag of hunters.
