Tools.
| The
ancient people needed the tools for hunting. The first tools Human made from a wood and a
bone. That were the cudgels, the spears, the acute sticks. Then they began to make the
tools from a more solid material - the stone. Therefore the most ancient phase of the
Human history is named “the early stone age”, or Palaeolithic. The primeval hunters of
mammoths were skilful in handling a stone . They learned to make the cuts, the axes, the
points of spears, the knifes, the scrapers and others. For that they found a stone of
necessary sizes, split it by blow of other stone, and then cut it on small plates, adding
necessary form to the tool. To receive the more complicated tool - an axe or a spear, - a
stone point was inserted in prepared wooden gripe, and was fixed with the help of leather
belts. The plates with acute edges, split from a large stone, used too. They were inserted
into wooden or bone gripes, and so the knife was made. The skills in making the composite
instruments were very important for the people during the discovery of the Western
Siberia. There are not enough mountains here, and consequently not enough stones. |
| The stone-storage
is shown in this picture. Straight plates with acute edges were split from this stone.
From that plates the Humans made little scrapers, points of spears, knife edges. |

|
| The variants of fixing of the
stone edge with the wooden gripe are shown in this picture. |
 |
| The
stone knifes had various forms. It was proved by archaeologists that many operations were
made better by ancient knifes, than by modern knifes with steel edges. |

|
| To
make a stone axe, it is necessary to have good skills. It is not enough to make a stone
edge and a wooden gripe. It is necessary also to fix them so that a gripe did not break up
and an edge did not jump out after the blow. The variant of fixing of an ancient axe is
shown in this picture. |

| The pictures of tools of the ancient
Human found on the stand Buret in Siberia in 1928 are shown below (the sizes are given full-scale). . |
