The first human appeared in Siberia
350-300 thousand years ago. Still by this time the earliest finds of his living rests in
caves of Altai dates. The scientists consider, that the first the neanderthalens (
sapiens neanderthalensis) - primitive hunters and gatherings - came into Siberia.
The first groups of hunters did not pass further than Southern Siberia and, by
everything, did not remain in Siberia for a long time. Ones went again to the south,
others could not return and were compelled to remain. Many of them, if not all of them,
perished by sharp changes of temperature or by starvation, could not adapt to severe
conditions of the Ice Age of Siberia. |

The most significant stands of the ancient Human in
Siberia. |
| The constant population in Siberia
occured much later, in epoch, which archaeologists name " the Upper Palaeolithic
". This period of the history began 45-40 thousand years ago and completed about 10
thousand years ago. At this time the people of the modern kind - sapiens sapiens –
come to Siberia. On the territory of Siberia some tens of ancient stands are analyzed by
archaeologists, and this allows to trace most ancient paths of assimilation by the Human
of this region. It is considered, that there were three main paths on which the Human came
to Siberia: 1. the most known route - from Central and Southern Asia through passes in
the Altai mountains.
2. from Mongolia and China to East Siberia.
3. from Europe through the Southern Ural, Kazakhstan, the Altai -Sayn and further to
the east.
On the map the largest palaeolithic stands in Siberia and the movement routes of the
most ancient population are shown. |
