 The mammoth structure.
The mammoth, as well as all animals, consisted of bones, muscles, fat, skin and various internal organs. And that all are of very large sizes. To carry 5-6 tons of weight a mammoth should have very strong skeleton. The mammoth skeleton consists of 123 massive bones.

If somebody looks at mammoth sideways, he seems a mammoth to be humpbacked. The hump is located approximately in that place, where the neck passes in a back. The reason of that is a mammoth chest vertebras having the long sprouts. The powerful back muscles and fat layers were fixed on them. This part of an animal body is named as withers. It is the highest point of a mammoth body. A growth of animal is measured according to withers. The adult large male of a mammoth has it raising above a surface of ground on 3,5 m. The back part of a mammoth body was some below than withers. It ends with a short hairy tail.
The thick strong muscles were fixed to the bones of skeleton. If to use all mammoth muscles as a food, the human family could eat nothing more for 2 years. The muscles of an adult mammoth are covered with a thick layer of hypodermic fat and rigid fold skin. If to spread a skin of a mammoth, it will cover the surface with square of 20 square meters – it is the real carpet!. Such carpet would be very soft and warm, because a soft small hairs of a mammoth undercoat, usually hiding under covering big hairs, have a height about 5-15ñì.
The legs of a mammoth was like a short poles and diameter of a foot reached 35-50 see. The surface of foots was rigid like a horn. There were 3 small nails per each leg in front, which were looked as a roundish plate.
The large hairy head with rather small ears sat on a short neck. The mammoths ears under the form were very similar to human’s ones and were densely pressed to the head. Two curved tusks crowned a forward part of the head, between which a very mobile trunk hanged down up to ground.
