| The
primeval bison, appeared in America, find suitable pasture for living very fast.
Even after warming, the significant part of bisons survived. They were settled in
woods and prairies along the huge territory from Canada up to the Northern Mexico.
In the 18 century the American bisons were the most numerous kinds of the hoofed on the
planet. Their livestock totaled more than 60 million. |

With the arrival of the white Human a
herd of bisons began to decrease fast, as they became the objects of barbarous hunting.
Any free bison did not remain in America at the end of the19 centuries.
In 1873 the Indians began to domesticate wild bisons to save this species. It was
begun, when the Indian by name Wandering Prairie-wolf caught two young bisons
and hid them from hunters. In some years he had already the whole herd of bisons (about
300), which he sold to the government of USA. The bisons were moved to Yellowstone
National Park and the care of them was taken by the government. Now the livestock of them has increased up
to 20 000. The danger of loss does not threaten to American bisons any more. |
