The first Americans.
It is considered that the first people appeared in
the American continent between 70-12 thousand years ago. In anthropologists opinion they
were representatives of mongol race of an American type. Most of the scientists consider
that the population of America passed from Siberia and East Asia through Beringia.
The problem is when it took place, is debatable until now. There are some main
opinions on this problem. The earliest fossil remains of the Human on the American
continent dates back to 12 000. Accordingly, the Human could reach America between
14 and 12 thousand years ago. It is the most argued point of view. In the earlier period
Beringia was most likely hid under the ice cover. Accordingly, it was extremely difficult
for the people to cross it in this period. Some researchers consider that there were some
different-time waves of resettlement.
There is still an independent opinion of the Norwegian researcher of Tur Heierdal
and his followers that the American continent was occupied partially through Oceania.
