Text: Not to be overlooked in preparing this piece: the 1st
movement quotes the chorale "Wer nur den lieber Gott lässt
walten", which Schumann also used as the setting for a poem in the
Liederkreis, Op. 24 (I think). Despite the bouncy figures in the
piano, the strings are intoning a song about surrender to a higher
power: a very intense moment, *if* you know about it and work on
bringing it out.
