Text: The opening movement (allegro moderato)of this sonata-form
quartet alla breve, based on a thematic cell which gives rise to a
very spirited and light-hearted principle melodic motif played by
the first violin with a staccato accompaniment from the other three
instruments, progresses much like a conversation.
