Beethoven String Quartet in B flat, Op.130I: Adagio ma non troppo. AllegroIn many pieces in the sonata form, there is a slow introduction to the "main" part of the movement, which was usually played to alert the audience that the music was about to begin. Therefore, the material of the introduction was usually forgotten when writing the remainder of the movement. Such is not the case here with Beethoven; he integrates the introduction so fully into the piece that it is really no longer so much of an "introduction" as it is an integral part of the movement.
