
In 1949, on the grounds where the creek Koshevo created a big
lake, where the youth of Koshevo once immersed, the foundations of a great stadium were
laid. Intended for the evolvement of athletics in Sarajevo, in 1984 it was transformed
into an Olympic stadium. On the 16th February 1984, a flame was brought down
from Mt. Olympia, orbited the world, and by the hands of (Yugoslavian ice-skater), lit the
fire of peace and declared the start of the XIV Winter Olympics. Just 8 years later, that
flame was lighted once again, brought down from the surrounding mountains,from hostile
hands, and declared war!
