Color Perception

If our eyes could only measure the intensity of light around us, everything that we see would be in shades of black, white, and gray. At low levels of light our eyes are only capable of seeing these shades. However in brighter light colors take form and we can see countless shades of reds, blues, purples, yellows, and other colors. Color perception is an ability of the human eye that lets us see more in objects around us.

This section focuses on how the optical system creates the sensation of color. You will see how color is sensed, how we can manipulate color, and several coloration tricks.
