The hog deer lives in Asia. It is distributed in Asian countries such as Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, China and Sri Lanka. Throughout its native range, the hog deer is associated with the grassland, floodplains of the major river systems. It can also be found in rainforests.
