Tamarind is a very useful herb, all parts of it can be used; beans, seeds, pulp, leaves, flowers, juice and bark. Tamarind is sour, acidic, and excites the bile and other juices in the body. Raw tamarind is both good to the body and unpleasant; if taken it cures urinary problems, but causes cough. Tamarind provides the heart strength and cleans any inpurities in the blood. Tamarind can also bring the unconscious back to consciousness. Tamarind bark if applied daily to teeth and gums keeps both strong. To cure a burn, take 5 gms of grounded bark to 10 gms of any sweet oil and apply. After wound is healed apply olive oil for a week to cure the scar left by burn. To permenantly cure colicy pain, burn the bark with rock salt in a earthern jar until it has been burned to a white ash. Transfer this ash to a small bottle and take 2 gms of this ash once in the morning and again in the evening. Tamarind leaves are good for sprains and swelling. If sprain, thoroughly crush the leaves to a paste, heat, apply to sprained area and bandage, (the same medicine can be applied for swelling ). Tamarind seeds are a good cure for scorpion bite; boil dry seed until skin can be easily removed, chop seed into half, apply to bite, the poision will glue the seed to the bite, which will start sucking out the poison, after the seed has fully sucked the poison it will pop off .
