Clove trees emit a soft enchanting 
fragrance.  Cloves are the unopened flower 
buds of Syzigium caryophyllaeum.  These are 
brown and brittle only when dry, but when fresh, 
are greenish.  Its tree grows to be about 30 
feet tall with flexible branches all around.  
The bark of the tree is smooth and yellowish-
gray.  The fresh buds are plucked from the tree  
and then dried to form cloves.
