D. D. Eisenhower

Dwight D. Eisenhower was born in 14th October, 1890 in Denison in Texas. He was the third child of David Jacob and Ida Elizabeth Stover Eisenhower. In 1892, the family moved to Abilene (Kansas), and he finished the high school there in 1909. Two years later, he was admitted at the Military Academy in New York and graduated in 1915. In 1916, he married Mamei Geneva Doud and they had their first child a year later.

After his studies, he served at the infantry for three years and continued his career in Tank Corporation till 1922. He moved upper and upper on the military hierarchy and was brigadier in 1941. He served during the World War II as well and didn't stopped heading forward. In the meantime, he didn't only served his military aims, in 1948 he became the headmaster of Columbia University in New York. In 1952, he retired from the active military service. He was engaged in politics more and more, in the year of his military retirement, in Abilene, he announced that he would participate the presidential election as a republican candidate. He was the President from 20th January, 1953 to 20 January, 1961. The Korean War, the suspension of nuclear weapons, the struggle with the crisis Lebanon, Alaska and Hawaii become state... all of them are related to his name.

In 1961, he returned to the army and kept his office, meanwhile he retired to his farm near Gettysburg. He died in 1969 in Walter Reed Army hospital in Washington and he was buried in Abilene.
