Roncesvalles:

It is the first place you see when you arrived from sain jonh of pie de puerto. Built at 1209 by sancho the strong there are many stories taht tell us that in taht place happened the fight between carlomagno and the vascones, and that that is the place where roldan , family of carlomagno died.

The things we know is that the church it the first gotic church buitl in Spain and that the clister was destroyed by a snow storm at the XVI century.

Other parts of the royal collegial church are the silo of carlomagno ( church of the holy spirit) that was a cementery os piligrims and the church of santiago, the parrish of that palce that it is gotic.

Pamplona.

It is the capital city of navarra and is one of the most imporant cities of the way to santiago. It is know all over the world by the sanfermines parades, from the 6th of july to the 14th and there is where the people run in front of the bulls. The weiter ernest heminway made it famous in his book: the sun also rises.

The most importan monument of the city is the Cathedral of Saint Mary. It is a gotic church with a gotic cloister that is consider the most beautiful cloister of the world. The cathedral at the middle age was very well know between the piligrims because the food and assistance it gave them.

Some important monuments are saint cernin and saint nicolas two gotic churches of the city. You can visit the barroc town hall, the saint lorenzo's church where you can find saint fermin's chapel, the citadel one of the biggest of Europe and the goverment palacem, the museum of Navarra and the cathedral museum.

Puente la Reina

Before you arrived to that village you will see one of the most curious churches of the path. It is a very strange church. We thing that it was a piligrims cementery and that it was a Templar church.

At Puente la Reina you will see and you will cross the most important bridge of all teh santiagos way. It is a romanic bridge made by one queen of navarra so teh piligrims didn't risk their lives crossing the river swimming.

But why is this vilalge imporatant? The reason it is important is because in this pont all the roads to santiago become one, so this is the beginning of the mos timportant path to santiago.

Estella.

This city is know as the Toledo of the north of spain. The most important monuments are:

Saint Sepulcher church that was began in the XII century and it was finished at the XVI. It is maybe the most beautiful chrch of teh city.

San Pedro de la Rúa with a romanic cloister with only two sides because a demolition of one castle destroyed part of it.

The palace of the dukes of Granada de Ega one of the best romanic civil building that you can find in spain. Ther in one of the colums you can see the battle of roldan and ferragut, one of the most popular legends of all the middle age.

Also you can visit Saint Mary of the Puy and of the Castle.

Leyre Monastery:

This is one of the most important monasteries of navarra. It was for years the court of the kingdom an dis where teh firsts kins of sapin are bury. It is a romanic monastery and it is consider one of the best romanic monastery of spain.
