Arts
Music
It
is a pleasant sound obtained from various instruments, following a
pattern. Music is a cultural as well as a social activity. It is a very
precious means of communication to express feelings. Different types of
music express different feelings; for example, drama or romantic ideas.
We
find it is one of the oldest art of communication. People probably started
to sing as soon as language was organised in Ancient Times. Around the
world, music takes many forms. European, American, African and Asian music
are all different from one another and express different cultures, races
as well as ideas and feelings; however, all music lovers are united while
listening to a particularly "Poignant" melody, whatever its
origin acting as a universal means of communication. As the old saying
goes: "Music has a peace making effect and sweetens ones
mood". Whenever the language barrier is present, with the help of
music, this can be lifted right out.
Now,
music is performed with electronic instruments and computerized equipment
(Computers) for personal activities, social events, at work and during
religious ceremonies.
Dancing
Dancing
is an art, as well as a form of recreation., of expression ,of feeling and
it is one of the most personal and effective means of communication.
The art of dancing can be described as the movement of the body in
time to the rhythm of music . Different cultures have different ways to
dance and scientists believe it can reveal much about their way of life.
A
dancer can, by it's body language express joy,
anger, and helplessness,
without actually saying a single word.
Dance is used as therapy, in courtship and in worship.
Two major kinds of dancing are social and theatrical dancing.
Of course, dances have changed
over the years, but folk dancing remain still popular, while revealing the
customs and traditions of populations. Modern dances keep thousands of
adepts.
In
ancient times both sacred and non-religious dancing existed.
During the middle ages, dances were prohibited, but with the
renaissance, dancing became more popular than ever. This continued in the
1600's and the 1700's.
In
the 1800's the waltz came fashionable leading us to the
90's with the rock 'n roll and
disco's and break dancing.
Much
like music ,dancing re-unite all races together ,as youths worldwide
understand the same language of dancing.
Painting
is the drawing of a particular theme or event. Many artists today use the
medium of painting to deal with social problems. They aim to disclose
their inner feelings towards war, poverty, discrimination, and injustice.
Communication of ideas through painting is understandable and acceptable.
Within a painting an artist may try to produce an intensely emotional
feeling, bringing out a particular mood or theme which is communicated to
the onlooker or spectator.
Sculpture
Is
the art of carving a shape from wood, stone, metal or any other pliable,
hard, or soft material. Many artists create sculpture to deal with their
need to communicate, to express their ideas and feelings. Sometimes, the
