Phaeton – a legendary planet

We have already considered the question of whether aliens exist in the description of   Mars. Let us now attend to the aliens living is our imagination: Those figures we know from science-fiction movies, do or did they really exist? Researchers have recently published their theory.

More than 175 million years ago, there is said to have been a tenth planet in our solar system: Phaeton. The obvious question is, of course, where this planet should be, if it actually existed. The answer is easy: For unknown reasons, Phaeton collided with a planetoid and burst into millions upon millions of little pieces. The two biggest remnants of Phaeton circled around the Sun for thousands of years, as glittering fiery tails and balls of fire and ice. Later on, one of these pieces developped into our ninth plane, Pluto. The other one developped into the morning star Venus, which used to circel close to the Sun, crossing the orbit of the Earth several times. Every time it appeared, people were given a scare. Indeed, the danger was real: From the Ipuwr papyrus in Cairo we learn that the planet hit the Earth several times and threw it off track. "The country turned and turned like a potter`s wheel, when the Earth suddenly plunged away."

The constant tumbling and tilting motions caused an apocalyptic situation: earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods and conflagrations all over the world. Some islands and whole continents disapeared in the depths of the sea, others arose. The consequences of this collision were fatal in otherways, too. There were several climatic disasters and the course of the seasons was thrown into disorder. The year no longer took 365 days, but was much shorter. Thus sundials, water-clocks, star maps and calendars became useless. All the calendars that were made before the 7th century BC no longer correpond with our year today. Only around 800 years BC did the cosmic phenomena stop. The planet "with the fiery tail" had become Venus.

And that`s not all! Researchers maintain that Phaeton had been inhabited by highly civilized people before the collision. Those people are even said to have caught planetoids to use their natural resources. Furthermore they are alleged to have conducted "terraforming" to Mars, as planned by NASA for the year 2100. We often find then planets on old star maps. Did the unknown astronomers draw space the way it once was ? It will probably taken some time to answer these questions, if indeed an answer will be found at all.

One last important detail about this report: There is no scientific proof that Phaeton and its people actually existed.
