Getting Help

One of the hardest things to do is admitting that you have an eating disorder. The next toughest thing is reaching out and asking for help. People with eating disorders are usually very independent and not used to sharing their feelings with anyone, especially not a therapist.

Having a good support sysyem will make a person with an eating disorder's path to victory a lot easier. Treatment should probably include individual, family, group therapy, support groups, medical and nutritional counselling. In some cases, medications, and sometimes there is a need for hospitalization.
