[Food Pyramid][Fats][Milk][Meat][Vegetable][Fruit][Bread]

Plenty of daily servings of vegetables are important for a healthy diet. Vegetables are great sources of vitamins and minerals. Carrots and spinach are high in vitamin A. Also, tomatoes and cauliflower contribute to one's vitamin C count. Vegetables also include plenty of carbohydrates and fiber that your body needs. The food guide pyramid suggest that people eat 3 - 5 servings from this group daily. Examples of one serving of vegetables are:

>1/2 cup of chopped vegetables (raw or cooked)
>1 cup of raw leafy vegetables
>3/4 cup of vegetable juice
