[Food Pyramid][Fats][Milk][Meat][Vegetable][Fruit][Bread}

This group is at the very bottom of the pyramid. The foods in this group should make up the biggest part of what you eat all day. Bread, cereal, rice, and pasta are all great sources of carbohydrates. This nutrient is the body's main energy source. You'll also get vitamin B and iron from these foods. The food guide pyramid suggest that people eat 6 - 11 servings from this group daily. Examples of one serving are:

>1 slice of bread
>1/2 cup of cooked rice or pasta
>1/2 cup of cooked cereal

>1 ounce of cold cereal
>1/2 bagel or english muffin
