Biography of Janice Steinberg  
Janice Steinberg grew up in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin. She wrote her first mystery, "The Clue of the Key," when she was seven years old. In 1969, she moved to Southern California. Steinberg attended the University of California-Irvine, receiving a B.A. and M.A. in Social Ecology.

Steinberg has worked at a variety of jobs, including urban planning, public relations, and freelance writing. She has written grant proposals, brochures, advertising copy, newsletters and even co-authored a fashion book for short women!

Janice Steinberg who is a gutsy, sensitive writer made her characters sparkle. “In The Dead Man and the Sea”, she masterfully creates a wide variety of people who are fun to hear, fascinating to watch, and intriguing in the secrets they don't quite succeed in hiding--all of it in a La Jolla so appealing you want to hop on a plane.

She owe her mystery writing career to her mother because She introduced Steinberg to Nancy Drew when she was very young and thus led her into a life of crime.

Currently, Janice Steinberg lives in San Diego with her husband, Jack Cassidy.
