Thalamus

The thalamus carries sensory information to the limbic system and cerebrum. This information includes sensory input from auditory and visual pathways, from the skin, and from within the body. Inputs from the cerebellum and limbic system are also channeled through this busy thoroughfare. Very little information processing goes on in the thalamus.
