Although theories abound as to the cellular mechanisms of learning and memory, we are a long way from understanding these phenomena. In mammals, and particularly in humans, however, we do know a fair amount about two other aspects of learning and memory: the time course of learning and some of the brain sites involved in learning, memory storage, and recall.
