What do Religions Teach?
- Christianity urges people to follow the Golden Rule: "Treat others as you want them to treat you" (Luke 6:31)
- Confucius states "Do not do to others what you do not want the others to do to you"
- A statement by Hillel the Elder, a famous Jewish rabbi from the 1st century BCE, "What is hateful to you, do not do to your friend"
- The Wiccan Rede which allows Wiccans to "Do whatever you wish, as long as it harms nobody, Including themselves"
Many other religions teach the same pricinciples as these, but still there are groups who discrimate aganist different faith groups. Through out history examples of this bias and restrictions are present. Even those of the same religion, but different denominations, are actively discreminated against. For example the religious bias in Northern Ireland (the Protestants vs the Catholics).
