For thousands of years humans have believed in some form of a religion, or belief of a supreme being or beings. This is known because of the discovery that primitive beings buried their dead. Religion has evolved with people over time, as people advanced technological so did religions. There has resently been the discovery that the first religions where monothestic, (beleif in one god) not polythesitic (belief in many gods or dieties) as scentists once believed. Through time religion has had a profound effect on people. Religion affects the bond between peoples, and empires are united through a common bond. Through out history relgion has made people feel good about themselves and also has helped people when the are in times of low self esteem.

In modern times religions are very different then what they used to be once. Most modern religions are not polythestic, but monothestic. The older religions are fading to make way to newer. The largest of the worlds religions is Christianity only challenged by Islam. These two religions are constantly converting people from other religions, and each are increasing 25% every few years. Religion is an important part of many peoples lives, and in some countries it is the law. People in some areas have been fighting for hundreds of years due to the differences of their religions. Their fued continues even today.
