I am not someone who served on the ship, but my grandfather was also on it...Edward Watson - a radar man. We recently discovered the framed document which makes these men "Plank Owners" (as they commissioned the ship) - kind of a neat piece of history...wish I would help you other than to pont toward a web site where there were pictures of men who were still around....

: Hello, I am looking for anyone who may have served on this ship. My grandfather was on it in 1944 and I am looking for information on him. Maybe someone who knew him or had pictures of him. His name was William Herbert Lambert (Bill Lambert) His rate was AS. Also, anyone know what this ship, or the DE cannon class in general, main job was during the war. Thanks for any help. Dan Lambert
