I am the grand daughter of a WWII vet who served in WWII with the 133rd. My family is trying to find out any and all information we can about his time with the 133rd. He did not like to talk about it and we can not find his service records anywhere. We contacted DOD but his service records were destroyed in the fire.
His name was Sgt. Dale Melvin Haas and he entered into the service through the South Dakota National Guard and the 109th QM in the spring of 1941 to Camp Claiborne, LA. In Ireland he transferred to the 133rd where he served out the rest of his time until 1945. He was awarded his purple heart in Africa and then spent the rest of the war in Italy fighting. He then shipped to California to come home.
That is the basic facts that I have been able to piece together. If anyone has any information about my papa I would really appreciate it.
Thank you!
