Unocal

Major industry has played an important role in the Santa Barbara channel. There continues to be controversy of the benefit drilling for oil along the central coast of California. The Cabrillo Aquarium found that Unocal and most of the major oil companies were helpful in giving direction and funding to our project. Unocal was the first to realize the potential of the CHS Aquarium and its effect on education in regards to hands-on-learning and partnershipping. Over a five year period Cabrillo Aquarium received $10,000 for the development of its shallow water reef habitat.
