"I think it's important that kids are exposed at an early age to
marine science. If you begin to have an appreciation at an early age, you
carry it through your adulthood. It's kids that aren't exposed at an early
age to marine science that don't develop an appreciation and are less likely
to appreciate it as adults and don't treat the environment as they should
later on."
