Clouds

In the picture below two strips of clouds are already visible and can already be observed with a small telescope. They run parallel to the equator. The rotation time there amounts to only 9h 51 minutes, in the higher latitudes it is five minutes more. Because of its rapid rotation the Jupiter is very flattened: Already in the small telescope one can detect that the planet is not round but elliptical. Particularly know is the red mark. He can be seen in the picture below about in the middle. It is a whirlwind, that already exists for 300 years. The expansion is not to be underestimated: It amounts to the double of the earth!
