The savanna has a huge number of large animals, like, antelopes, zebras and buffaloes, which are herbivores. Also, there are carnivores such as hunting dogs, hyenas, cheetahs and lions. Moreover, elephants and giraffes can also be found.

     Palm, which can provide shelter and food for animals are the main kind of tree found in the savanna. Grasses are more luxuriant than other plants in the savanna because they can regenerate more easily than other plants after fire and grazing. Also, some grasses can secrete chemicals that hinder the activities of microorganisms so that other plants cannot get sufficient nutrients from decayed materials.
