Commercial whaling has existed at different levels for many centuries. This commerical slaughter of whales has brought many whale species and populations to the brink of extinction.

As you go along the next 2 pages, you will get to know more about commercial whaling, how it started, why it flourished and why it declined. Although the extent of commercial whaling has been greatly reduced, it is still an on-going activity in many parts of the world. Whale populations are hard to predict, therefore we never know how many whales are there exactly left in the oceans of our earth. One day, someone might just catch the last whale, and that's the end. We cannot afford that to happen, as that would have great negative effects on our ecosystem and human life will also be indirectly affected. There are many other factors why commercial whaling should no longer exist and we hope through these few pages, you will be more aware about commercial whaling, its impact on whales and human life.

Commercial Whaling must stop!
