A ceratopsian (horned dinosaur), this little plant eater was only 3 feet long. He was an earlier member of the family to which Anchiceratops belonged. Bagaceratops had a relatively small face with a parrot-like beak. This helped the animal tear up small roots and shrubs to eat. He had no teeth.

Horned dinosaurs are famous for their neck hills made of bone and their several large horns. Bagaceratops had only one small horn just above its beak. It also had a small neck frill and would have been easy prey for flesh-eating dinosaurs. Bagaceratops has been found in Mongolia, and it is not known if they were common throughout the world. Compared to other horned dinosaurs, Bagaceratops looked like a small rhinoceros and may have lived in small groups for survival. Unlike other homed dinosaurs, Bagaceratops could not stand on its back legs.
