Earth

Interior and Surface

This is our planet Earth. This is the only planet that support life form. Earth is actually mostly made up of iron and oxygen combined with other elements. The surface of the planet is very unique from the rest of the planets as it is the only one that has large amount of water on the surface. Our surface features includes the mountains, rivers, volcanoes, eathquakes, deserts etc.

Atmosphere

The atmosphere protects us from dangerous sun rays. The atmosphere is made up of 78% of nitrogen, 21% of oxygen and 1% of the remaining gases. The atmosphere is made up of five layers and the first layer is where the weather takes place. Oxygen is very important on Earth as it is for us to breathe. After some time, some oxygen changed to form the ozone. The ozone layer prevents most of the ultaviolet ray from entering Earth. The ozone layer also traps heat to warm up the Earth.

Earth's Moon

Earth has only one moon which was one-quarter of the Earth. Due to its small size, the gravity on moon is one-sixth of Earth. The moon actually has many interesting features such as the crater, mountain range rilles, and lava plains. The moon actually does not have any atmosphere. Since there is not atmosphere, the temperature ranges from 100 degrees at noon to -173 degrees at night. The moon does not produce light but it reflects light from the sun to the Earth.
