Berlin
(one of Germany's three city states) was founded around 1230 and
became the capital of Germany in 1871. Much of Germanys history in
the last hundred years can be linked with Berlin. After the end of
WWII it was seperated into four sections. (the USA, Great Britain
and the Solviet Union eache claimed a section) In 1961 East Germany
built a wall to divide east and west Berlin. Many years later,
October 3rd 1990, the wall was finally taken down and Germany
reunited. |
