Strains and Outbreaks Ebola has four different strains: Ebola Zaire (EBO-Z), Ebola-Sudan (EBO-S), Ebola Reston (EBO-R), and Ebola Cote d'Ivoire (EBO-CI, also known as Ebola Tai).
