Welcome to the BEES Camden Radiation Investigation!

We represent an alliance of students from New Jersey's Camden and Cherry Hill West High Schools. We have worked together to investigate an environmental issue of Camden County - The Welsbach / General Gas Mantle Site. Over the course of 1995-1996, we have learned to appreciate and cooperate with one another to reach our common goal of improving the environment of a Southern New Jersey neighborhood.

This web site is only a small portion of the massive amount of work all the students, faculty, and administrators did. Within these pages, one can view reports on the history of the Welsbach site, various health considerations concerning radiation, types of governmental involvement, proposed alternative uses for the site, opinions of people living in the contaminated area, as well as other topics.
