Welcome to our Encyclopedia. While developing SCiHistory, we've seen a thousand new words, especially because English is not our native language. and we had never studied History in English before. While translating names and specific terms (Aristóteles - Aristotle; Empirismo - Empiricism), sometimes we got confused. So, we've added this Encyclopedia System to help you not to get confused.
Here you will find a integration with Encyclopedia.com, providing quick descriptions of the meaning of any word in our texts and biographies of the characters, such as political leaders, scientists and thinkers. And, SCiHistory has compiled an extensive list of books and other media references to topics studied here, so I can go on in your research.
At any time, the Encyclopedia is available to you in the following way: you can click on the link at the astronaut window available at your toolbar, you can click on the specific button if you are inside the Timeline (and then the words in that year will be displayed automatically) or you can click on 'Encyclopedia' in our flash menu which appears on the on start page of each sections.
Specifically, the References Database won't be available in any place or link other than this one, because it is a large part of our website and its pages are too big to download in slow internet connections (~30-40k). So, for those interested, it is available here at any time. When browsing in the Encyclopedia, regardless of where you are, the left-side menu can take you to the Glossary Index and Biographies Index (sorted by name).
