
The
Internet is a great place for an EcoKid to learn about environmental issues. Below
are just a few of the hundreds of environmental web pages out there. It's pretty
impossible for any one page to cover every topic. We've looked at every one of the
pages listed below and given you an idea of what's there, so if you're looking for
something specific you already have a head start! Special note has been made of
pages with multilingual versions, which allow EcoKids from all over the world to find out
about what's going on in the environment around the globe, or right around the street.

Around Your World
- Take a fascinating look at Biodiversity
and Conservation on Mount Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. This site features
incredible pictures and is a must-see. Intresting information on the more technical
aspects of a career in botany or biology.
- With versions in both Chinese and English, the home page for the Hong Kong Planning, Environment and Lands Bureau
gives Internet users around the world a glimpse into the island's efforts to balance
development with care for environmental issues.
- Another bilingual site (Vietnamese and English versions), the Vietnam Science, Technology, and
Environment Page has information on all sorts of ecological issues facing Vietnam,
from endangered species to sustainable resources. Includes pictures, photos, and
information on Vietnamese environmental law.
- The Madras Naturalists' Society Web Page (out
of India) features news on lectures and gatherings in Madras and scholarly articles from
the Society's Blackbuck journal.
- Conservation
in the Indian Subcontinent has many scholarly articles, interesting mailing lists, and
a number of links to related sites.
- The home page for the Endangered Wildlife
Trust has information on that group's efforts to protect endangered species in
southern Africa.

- An excellent resource, Environmental
News Service provides the latest ecological news from around the world.
The Earth Times explores current global
events in an ecological context. Includes articles on a wide array of subjects,
along with good photography, links, and daily polls.
- The paper Eco, prepared by the
Climate Action Network, tackles worldwide environmental issues from both political and
scientific stand-points.
The UN Environmental Program (UNEP) tracks the
United Nation's ongoing efforts in the areas of environmental study and conservation.
