Hi,
I am Farhan and I am one of the developers of this site. In my opinion, Gandhi was a successful leader because he managed to generate a feeling of togetherness among the masses and was also able to move every India to strive for Independence. The partition was an unfortunate result of the malicious moves of some of the Muslim fundamentalists who being afraid of coming under the Hindu rule sided with the British and created such a situation. For views against Gandhi, the section on Nathuram Godse, his assasin would be interesting.
: In my Humanities class, we had a long discussion on leadership. I think Ghandi qualifies as a good leader, although some did not agree. I think that Ghandi did the best possible to get people of all kinds to join together to accomplish a major goal. Many were pleased by what he did, and he had many followers. Some of my classmates argued that the nation could not stay together after they achieved their goal of independance. What does anyone else think? Was Ghandi a successfull leader?
