The King Being the core of any army, the King is the most important piece on the board. When the King dies, the whole army perishes along with him. In the early stages of the game, the King will normally seek safety by castling with his Rook. After a King castles, he will normally sit tight until the end game. A King plays a very important role in the end game. When the board is left with pawns and the Kings, the King must come out and lead his pawns to the other side to be advanced to greater pieces. As a King, your mission is to seek safety until the board is clear enough to advance your pawns. Seek knowledge, young apprentice!
