This site is only show the good side of VOC. Why you don't add any articles about the role of VOC in slave trade, the massacre of native people in Moluccas, and its dirty war against native kingdom in East Indies. There were to many bad thing about VOC and we can forget them ...

Hi Wilco, a lot of people call ME a specialist. They`re wrong !
I asked a friend in Holland (by e-Mail) whether she could help me locate
material that would be research for an historic fiction novel I am writing about
a French huguenot who escapes France; travels through Switzerland; and down
the Rhine to Holland in 1688. He contracts with the VOC to become a settler
in South Africa and sails from Rotterdam in 1688 to arrive on the Shores of
the Cape of Good Hope three months later - after a terrible journey - in which
1/2 of the crew and 1/2 of the refugee passengers were dead. She gave me the
web page and I was thrilled at the work you have done. Thank you for your excellent
work. (Incidently, I found only one "english" error. The word Muteny should
be spelled Mutiny! I was trying to find some material on the "Berg China" on
which the refugee sailed in 1688. Thank you again. Kenneth joubert, 1492 Fiddick

Great site but... I was wondering why the page about sparetime on board the ship contains two pictures of prostitutes about wich you can't find any information in the text.
A very good site, I must say.
But maybe if you add a little more about how people lived
on these ships, for example; food, kinds of jobs etc.
it would be an aprovement.

How 'bout a forum? A genuine Message Board?
Other than that I think you did a pretty good job on the page, especially the bird at the openings page.
Natural selection has been described as an environment selectively screening for those who will have progeny. Where humans are concerned, though, this is an extremely limiting viewpoint. Reproduction by sex tends toward experiment and innovation. It raises many questions, including the ancient one about whether environment is a selective agents after the variation occurs, or whether environment plays a pre-selective role in determining the variations which it screens. Dune did not really answer those questions: it merely raised new questions which Leto and the Sisterhood may attempt to answer over the next five hundred generations.

I am using Netscape, and maybe that's why, but the pages were hardly readable, because pictures often overlapped the text. The java script for the Ship worked, but the pictures and movies didn't show up. This sounds all very negative, nevertheless I linked the site since the information is valuable since it gives in a short while a lot of information which is very readable. Succes with all the mistakes (if you find some on my sites I am happy to hear and correct it)

Hester en Wilco,
Congratulations ! The theme (VOC) is well-chosen and essential for all who are interested in the history of the Netherlands and the (former) Netherlands East Indies. Its presentation takes full advantage of the Internet possibilities in providing a balanced use of music, texts, illustrations and interactive elements. The inclusion of the dictionary makes it still easier to handle.
