The Spirit String on a Rope

   In this trick, you begin with both of your wrists tied together with a length of cord.  Then, you take a solid ring, and magically make it appear on the rope. Seems impossible, doesn't it?  Read on to find out how.

Materials

1.) Length of cord (1- 1.5 feet)

2.) Two rings of the same size and appearance (these can be picked up at any novelty store)

Preparation

1.) Slip one of the rings over your left arm as far up as it will go on your arm. A long sleeve shirt would do well so the ring is hidden.

Performance

1.) Have a member of the audience tie the cord around you wrists, fairly tight. There should be about 1 foot between your wrists. Hold your arms up while they are being tied so the ring does not slip down.

2.) Pass around the second ring so the audience can see that it is not fake.

3.) When you get the ring back, turn around and quickly place the ring in your shirt or inside coat pocket.

4.) Slip the ring on your arm down over your hands and onto the cord.

5.) Turn around and show the ring on the cord, and ask the audience if they wish to examine the ring.
